TRICARE psychiatric appointments: who I see and how to start

TRICARE care for military families in Fort Walton Beach

I am an in-network TRICARE psychiatrist for children, teens and adults. If you are an eligible TRICARE patient I see, you can start the intake form without waiting for a primary care manager (PCM) referral for an outpatient psychiatric visit. My office reviews your form, verifies coverage and calls you to schedule.

TRICARE authorizations

Our office handles TRICARE authorizations for you. We verify your coverage and obtain any required authorizations for care provided by our practice. You do not need to arrange them yourself.

Who can start an intake form?

- Family members of active-duty service members.

- Guard and Reserve family members, and Guard and Reserve members when not activated.

- Retirees and their family members.

- Young adults enrolled in TRICARE Young Adult.

We welcome active-duty family members. Service members on active duty, including activated Guard and Reserve members, should arrange care through their military treatment facility. TRICARE directs these members to a military hospital or clinic when possible; civilian mental health care requires a referral and preauthorization. Our practice does not schedule those members. Starting with my office

Visit New Patients, choose your coverage, and complete the secure intake form. After you submit it, our office reviews the information and calls you within one business day to schedule or discuss an issue that prevents scheduling. Our office is not in-network with commercial insurance plans. When commercial insurance is primary and TRICARE is secondary, visits are self-pay; our office cannot bill TRICARE as secondary. If commercial insurance is your primary insurance, call before completing forms. Our office reviews Medicare plus TRICARE For Life and self-pay arrangements separately.
